Beaner's: Where the Local Music is At

Looking for that one spot that has all the local music you can handle? Search no longer; Beaner’s Central is where it’s at. With local music playing almost every Tuesday through Sunday in the evening, you can enjoy your favorite drink and a sandwich while taking in the sounds of local musicians.

Wondering if Beaner’s has a cover charge? If you’re hard up for cash, have no fear. Concerts/Open Mic nights aren’t too pricey. The most you may have to pay is $8. One of the things I’ve noticed at Beaner’s is that when you're in doubt, the cover charge is usually $5, which is a small price to pay if you enjoy that local sound. (I should add that sometimes there may not even be a cover charge!). Now, whether that music is good or not (or worth the $5) depends on you and your taste in music.

Questioning the Staff at Beaner’s? The people who work there are very down-to-earth people. My experience there was pleasant and they were very nice.  I kind of get that post-modern hippie feeling when I’m there. This is not a bad thing at all; I find it quite interesting. Many of my friends are the hippie type and love places like Beaner’s, Pizza Luce or The Thirsty Pagan, which all feature live performances from local musicians.

Hungry? Why wait?! Beaner’s has a wide variety of items on their menu. It reminds me of the menu at Amazing Grace down in Canal Park. Need breakfast? They have a pastry case that has muffins, scones, yogurt, etc. Want a sandwich? Beaner’s has amazing sandwiches! I suggest not skipping over these. In my opinion, their best sandwich is the Smoked Turkey Panini: freshly sliced smoked turkey, craisins, and basil pesto served on focaccia. So good! They also have salads for those who like to go green with their food!
