Morgan Park is a neighborhood with a rich history in Minnesota industry. Built in the early 1900s as a planned community, it was centered around the U.S. Steel plant, and named for 20th century financier J.P. Morgan. The town was literally run by the industrial giant - trash collection and all - until 1933, when it was deeded to Duluth. You'll still find many of the original homes and townhomes still standing. Morgan Park's next-door neighboor, Riverside, is so named for its close proximity to the St. Louis River. Norton Park, the easternmost of the three, is tucked up against the hillside, and is home to a popular city park of the same name. These defined neighborhoods offer the close-knit feel of small towns.
