Bayfront Blues Festival

Well, it's that time of year again; the 21st  Annual Bayfront Blues Fest kicks off this Friday down by the lake in what promises to be as good a year as any for the festival.  Come listen to live performances all weekend long, with performances starting at noon Friday, and concluding at 9:00 P.M. Sunday.  Full concert listings can be found at http://www.bayfrontblues.com/.

Personally I have never been to the Blues Fest, but that doesn't mean that I haven't listened to and enjoyed the music.  You don't necessarily have to be in the Bayfront Park in front of the stage to hear the music live; basically the entire Canal Park area will be in range of the performances, so if you don't feel enthusiastic enough to buy tickets to the event, but you would still like to hear some of the performances, go hang out downtown this weekend and you will definitely be able to catch some of the sounds.

Another thing that Blues Fest brings to Duluth are the tourists.  This influx is always a welcome surge to local businesses, and Canal Park is sure to recieve the bulk of the visitors.  Expect traffic and restaurants in the area to be a bit busy this weekend, and just a bit louder as well.

All in all, Blues Fest has been a huge success in the past, and this year's should be no different.  If the weather decides to cooperate, a weekend spent in Canal Park could turn out to be a fantastic event for Blues fans and casual walkers combined.
