Speedway... all that and a cup of soup!
The Proctor Speedway IS all that it is cracked up to be... and more! This fantastic establishment features weekly Sunday night racing through out the summer and some "special event" races that either are or are sure to become classic must see events.
This year during the regular racing events, the Speedway featured themed nights all year long honoroing students, the military, and featuring a special day called "At the Track with the Classics" which honored retired race car drivers from the "Glory Days" of racing at the track. The Annual Silver 1000 has been going on for over 30 years and is a must drive event for a lot of racers. And every October comes the two day invitational event, "Proctoberfest." The track also holds a few Enduros each year and this year had their first ever Bus and Trailer races, which may have been the most fun at a race track that one can legally have.
In addition to the great racing on the track, the Speedway also has a great concession stand featuring home cooked food, along with the kind of track fare that you would expect. Mary Korich, the Speedway's Executive Chef serves up some mighty fine cuisine, including the best homemade soups around. Tickets are reasonably priced, and all in all it is a great value for the money. If you haven't been, GO!
As for other "thigns to do" in Proctor. The majority of our entertainment activities centers around our schools- all the usual HS athletics, music concerts, theatrical productions, etc.
